The Gospel Challenge Daily Reading

Posted on: April 8th, 2009 by carpenter9 No Comments

Here is the daily reading for the Gospel Challenge:
April 10th
Read John 20

Of all the things that Jesus could have said when he entered the room with the disciples after He rose from the dead He chose to say, “as the Father sent me, I am sending you” (verse 21). Jesus’ ultimate goal in coming to us is that we would go to others. Who are you going to? When will you make the ask?

All C3ers that have fasted today:
It’s almost over! I’m planning on heading out to Burger King for 2 whoppers at 12:01 am!

The Gospel Has Already Begun…..

A ton of things are positive in any church. We all enjoy seeing a large percentage of the church show up for an outreach or a worship service/gathering. We all get jazzed (that’s right, I used that word) when people volunteer to do anything to further the mission of the church or when several new people sign up for a small group.

All of these things are great…..but I hope our focus is always on people “who are far from God” finding life through Jesus Christ (salvation) and then following Him at all cost (discipleship).

That’s why I wanted to do the our new series: The Gospel. It’s the only thing that really changes people’s lives.

I have been praying that over the next three weeks that people would either “Find Life” or decide to “Follow at All Cost”.

What I didn’t know is that God had already been at work long before us! I just found out that two people found life (Salvation) this past Sunday. All I can say is Awesome!

Can’t wait to see what’s to come!

The Gospel Challenge

The GospelNo gimmicks. No stunts. No bells and whistles. Just the Gospel. The same Gospel written over 2,000 years ago. It radically changed lives then and is still changing lives today. Do whatever it takes to join us for this three-week event starting Sunday, March 22nd… just don’t come alone.

We will also be asking all C3ers to join us for “The Gospel Challenge“. This is a 21 day challenge that will conclude on Easter morning. The challenge includes:
1. Reading through the Gospel of John (one chapter a day)
2. Giving up something (kind of like Lent).
3. Praying for C3 and all the “broken and hurting people” who need change for five extra minutes a day.
4. A complete fast on Good Friday (April 10th).
